What it is
The 16K Pro is a floor-standing 16 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery in a steel cabinet on casters. It stores what the panels make in the day so the shop runs at night and through cloudy weather.
It talks to the inverter over CAN or RS485, so the inverter charges off the battery's real state of charge. Add batteries as the load grows: they run in parallel, each set to its own address on a dial switch.
Heater pads warm the cells so the pack can take a charge below freezing, and active cell balancing moves charge between cells instead of bleeding it off, which is what keeps a pack matched over ten years.

Questions we get
Which inverters does it work with?
It runs closed-loop with the KOOR All-in-One and 12K, and with major brands over CAN or RS485. Ask us for the wiring guide for your inverter — we publish plug-by-plug guides.
Can I add more later?
Yes. They run in parallel. Set each battery's address on the dial switch, and keep a new pack within 2 V of the existing ones when you connect it.
What happens in the cold?
It will discharge down to −20 °C (−4 °F). It will not charge below freezing on its own — that is what the heater pads are for. They warm the cells so it can take a charge on a cold morning.
Does it need maintenance?
No watering, no equalizing, no monthly chores. If the system sits off for a long stretch, leave it at 70 % or better and top it up every three months.
Can it go outside?
No. Indoor only — a shop, a basement, a utility room. For an outside wall, ask us about a weather-rated option.
Is it UL listed?
No. Tell your inspector and insurer before specifying it on a permitted job.
